Family Support
At The Discovery School, we value the social and emotional development of our children and understand that working closely with our families will enable the best outcomes for children. We are very lucky to have a well established SEMH team, including Emma Randle, our Family Support Manager.
What kind of support can be offered?
Emma is able to offer a range of support to parents and children, including talking therapy, play based support, 1:1 and group support. Emma's time is commissioned via the SEMH team where decisions are made as to the most appropriate support for the child / family. Emma is part of our successful, three-tiered approach to support wellbeing, which can be seen here . Emma's work is varied, from supporting children through family separation, to those who have experienced bereavement, to working with children who have anxiety based school refusal. Emma also works with a range of outside agencies that are able to support our families, including facilitating training for our parents and signposting to other services.
How can I contact Emma?
If you have any concerns about your child, then the first port of call would be their class teacher who will be able to direct this to the SEMH team.
Emma can be contacted at school via email erandle@discovery.kent.sch.uk or telephone 01732 847000.
